Racial Justice Working Group

  • 320 Sawkill Road Kingston, NY, 12401 United States (map)

We continue to discuss the intersectionality of racial, environmental and immigrant justice and explore how we can connect our efforts within our congregation as well as become working partners in our wider community. If you missed the June meeting, here is the 5 minute video we watched; talking about the climate activist and Black Lives Matter movements. https://sites.hampshire.edu/rwkerncenter/leah-thomas-environmentalists-for-blm/ . In July, Bobbi Katz will update us on status of the UU resource booklet “Coming Back to Ulster County”. This publication was widely distributed for years, helping released prisoners reintegrate into the community. Our hope is to get it updated and redistributed. Kathy Eberlein, who has been involved directly with the Ulster Immigrant Defense Network, will also be reporting back to us in July. We are looking for opportunities for UU Catskills people to support/volunteer with them.
