Social Action

At UU Catskills we actively engage in justice work through various initiatives, both within our congregation and in the wider community. Our commitment to justice is centered in LOVE. It is the power that recognizes our diversity of culture, experience and theology, and honors the interdependent web of all existence. We work to be a diverse multicultural Beloved Community where all feel welcome and can thrive. We declare that every person is inherently worthy and has the right to flourish with dignity, love, and compassion. As a congregation we strive to cultivate a spirit of gratitude and hope. We welcome all members and friends to our Social Justice work. Anyone interested in learning more about our efforts and speaking with people involved in these initiatives may email Social.Action@uucatskills.org and one of us will reach out to you.

The Social Action Committee includes representatives from our current working groups and teams:

We recognize that the work for human rights and equality is an ongoing effort and that there are areas of need not currently represented herein. The Social Action Committee welcomes the opportunity to widen the circle of care and invites proposals for expansion to areas of need not currently represented in our collective actions.

All are welcome to participate. If you would like to learn more about this group, email Social.Action@uucatskills.org.
